Preble County Fair one day open dairy show with all breeds shown at that time.
The show will begin at 9:00 am on Saturday. Showmanship followed by Junior Fair Show and then Open Show (lactating cows first).Entries: Online and walk in entries begin April 19, 2024Online and walk in entries end July 20, 2024Entries will also be taken on the morning of the show, before 9:00 am. If fewer than 3 cattle registered in any class, payout top winner only and ribbons to other winners. Entry fee will be $10 per head. Registration papers will be checked.
Dates for computing entries in dairy classes shall be as follows:
  • Junior Heifer Calf: born on or After Mar. 1, current year and on or before May 1, current year
  • Intermediate Heifer Calf: born on or after Dec. 1, previous year and on or before Feb. 28, current year
  • Senior Heifer Calf: born on or after Sept. 1, previous year and on or before Nov. 30, previous year
  • Summer Yearling: born on or after June 1, previous year and on or before Aug. 21, previous year
  • Junior Yearling Heifer: born on or after Mar. 1, previous year and on or before May 31, previous year
  • Intermediate Sr. Yearling: born on or after Dec. 1, 2 years previous and on or before Feb. 28, previous year
  • Senior Yearling Heifer: born on or after Sept. 1, 2 years previous and on or before Nov. 30, 2 years previous
  • Jr. Two Year Old Cow: born on or after Mar. 1, 2 years previous and on or before Aug. 31, 2 years previous
  • Sr. Two Year Old Cow: born on or after Sept 1, 3 years previous and on or before Feb. 28, 2 years previous
  • Three Year Old Cow: born on or after Sept. 1, 4 years previous and on or before Feb. 28, 3 years previous
  • Four Year Old Cow: born on or after Sept. 1, 2016 and on or before Aug. 31, 4 years previous
  • Aged Cow - Five Years Old or older: born before Sept 1, 5 years previous
  • Dry Cow
  • Junior Get of Sire: 3 animals by same sire: born after Mar. 1, 2 years previous
  • Senior Get of Sire: 3 animals by same sire: born before Mar. 1, 2 years previous
  • Three Best Females: Any age, owned by exhibitor
  • Produce of Dam: Two female animals, any age, the product of one dam
  • Dam and Daughter: Consist of dam and her own daughter, any ages
  • Exhibitors Herd: Consists of 2 animals under 2 years of age, and 2 animals 2 years or older and one animal of exhibitor’s choice
PEE WEE JERSEY SHOW - “Open to the World”
Continuing a tradition started by Carl and Inez House in the early 50’s, House Family Jersey’s: Bill, Cathy, Chip, Paige and Addyson House sponsor the Pee Wee Show. This show provides show ring opportunity and encourages interest in dairy cattle for young people under 4-H age. Everyone is a winner, and every winner will receive a ribbon and a dairy treat. This show will be held during the lunch break during the Open Class Dairy Show.
